What are Redmond City Public Records?

Redmond City public records contain information created, received, or used by government agencies to perform official functions. According to the Washington Public Records Act, Redmond public records may be documents, audio records, photographs, video recordings, and other storage forms containing relevant information, notwithstanding physical form, characteristics, or mode of transmission. Washington law ensures that members of the general public may obtain copies of desired records after submitting official requests. Nonetheless, the law prevents government entities from providing public access to certain information. Some examples include:

  • Pre-conviction and non-conviction criminal records
  • Juvenile records, including court records containing juvenile court proceedings
  • Medical records containing patients’ health care information
  • Records of clients, created or maintained by a rape crisis center or a domestic violence shelter
  • Health care provider records, including phone numbers, residential addresses, and social security numbers. This exemption also covers records of HMOs and organizations that provide other health-related services, such as disability insurance
  • Investigative records required to remain confidential to protect an individual’s right to privacy, or other law enforcement purpose
  • Personal information contained in files maintained for welfare recipients, clients or patients of public institutions, and public school students
  • Personal information on public employees and officials if public access would infringe on their right to privacy
  • Tax returns and other tax-related information, such as personal and financial license details, if disclosure would violate the taxpayer's right to privacy or cause an unfair competitive disadvantage
  • Preliminary drafts, notes, recommendations, and memoranda

Public city records may also be accessible from third-party websites. Record seekers may either opt to use these non-governmental platforms to search for a specific record or multiple city records. However, users will need to provide enough information to assist with the search, such as:

  • The address of the requestor
  • A case number or file number (if known)
  • The location of the document or person involved
  • The name of the subject involved in the record (not juvenile)
  • The last known or current address of the registrant

Third-party sites are not sponsored by government agencies. Because of this, record availability and results may vary.

Redmond City Crime Statistics

Some reported specifics include 1 murder, 11 rape cases, 44 aggravated assaults, 152 simple assaults, 2 kidnappings, and 45 cases of intimidation. Other listed figures were 17 robberies, 167 burglary incidents, 1,617 larceny-thefts, 120 motor vehicle thefts, 4 arson cases, and 143 narcotic violations. According to the report, there were 756 arrests in 2020, including 21 involving juveniles and 735 adults. The reported crime rate per 1,000 was 52.2, with 26% of all offenses cleared.

Are Redmond City Criminal Records Public?

All interested members of the public may obtain copies of Redmond City criminal records. However, information receivable by third-party requestors may be limited. Persons seeking criminal history information on themselves can request and obtain comprehensive or unrestricted records. For third-party requests, applicants may only receive conviction information, records of registered sex and kidnapping offenders, and information on arrests less than a year old if there is no disposition. Also, public requests are restricted to non-criminal justice purposes.

Eligible parties may obtain Redmond criminal records from the Washington State Patrol (WSP) by requesting online, by mail, or in person. Online requests are available through the Washington Access to Criminal History (WATCH) platform for $11 per request. Fees are payable via debit or credit cards from American Express, Visa, or MasterCard. Mail requests cost $32 and require completed copies of the Request for Conviction Criminal History Form. Acceptable payment methods include checks, money orders, or card payments via a bank card authorization. In-person requests require physical visits to the:

How Do I Visit an Inmate in the Redmond City Jail?

Persons looking to visit Redmond City inmates may contact one of two facilities managed by the King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention. Interested persons may partake in remote or in-person visits at the following locations:

King County Correctional Facility (KCCF) - Seattle

Visitors must check in at the reception of each facility at least 15 minutes before the scheduled visit or risk cancelation. In addition, all visitors must behave appropriately as staff at either facility may cancel visits for inappropriate conduct.

Interested persons may also visit remotely by signing up with the Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention’s third-party vendor. Remote visits are free of charge.

Conducting a search is subject to our Terms of Service and Privacy Notice.

What are Redmond City Vital Records?

Redmond City vital records are official records that detail city life events, such as divorces, marriages, births, and deaths. Interested persons may submit requests to the King County Superior Court Clerk, the King County Recorder’s Office, the Washington Department of Health, or the King County Archives, depending on the desired records. However, access to some vital records is restricted to the persons named on the records and a small group of authorized persons.

Where and How to Obtain Redmond City Divorce Records

The King County Superior Court Clerk keeps records of all divorces in the county. Interested members of the public can request Redmond City divorce decrees from the Court Clerk’s Office online, by mail, or in person. Records are available for all divorces since 1853.

Persons requesting online must create accounts on the Clerk’s Office’s online platform to view records or receive physical copies. To request by mail, each party must complete the Court Clerk’s copy request form by specifying the desired record type and including the names of involved parties, year or approximate year of filing, and a case number. If the case number is unknown, parties may perform a self-search or use the Electronic Records Request for $30. The requestor should also include personal contact information, including a daytime phone number.

Each request requires a $10 deposit via a Washington bank check printed with the payer’s name and address. Alternatively, requestors may use cashier’s checks or money orders. If the amount does not cover the request, the Clerk’s Office will send an invoice for the balance. Excess fees will be refunded if the request is less than $10.

In-person requests are also available at the Clerk’s Office. Searchers may view court documents for free or purchase physical copies during the court’s business hours. All non-certified copies cost 50 cents per page, while certified copies cost $5 for the first page and $1 for each subsequent page. Requests for Redmond divorce decrees should be submitted to the:
